Mark John Ehmann's Obituary
MARK JOHN EHMANN 6/26/62—7/21/17 “And in the end, the Love you take is equal to the Love you make.” Mark John Ehmann, 55, of Dallas, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on July 21, 2017 in Allen, Texas, from complications after surgery. He was born on June 26, 1962, to Capt. Harry William Ehmann, USAF, and Maria “Susie” Hernandez Ehmann in Houston, Texas. The fifth of five children, at age 5, Mark lost his father to cancer, which profoundly affected his life. He spent his early years in Sherman, Texas, before moving to the H-E-B area in 1973. Mark attended Trinity High School in Euless, Texas and attended Tarrant County College in Hurst, Texas for two years. Music was in Mark’s blood, especially the music of the Beatles. Naturally left-handed Mark sang and played the bass guitar like Paul McCartney in several tribute bands off and on for all of his adult life, including, Hard Nights Day, Me and My Monkey, Glass Apple, Ticket to Ride, Newspaper Taxi, M T Hat, Innervision, and Runner. He had a love of history and travel and a highlight of his life was playing The Cavern Club, in Liverpool, England, with Hard Nights Day. Mark was known for his wit and had a great sense of humor—even at the end. He had a lot of fans but never took himself too seriously. Mark was generous to a fault and would always pose for photos with fans of all ages after his gigs, no matter how long it took. Mark was also an accomplished song writer and a fierce competitor at Trivial Pursuit. He loved a challenge and went sky diving for his 40th birthday. Mark was very creative and never lost his child-like sense of wonder that he always shared with his beloved children. The world has lost a talented, charismatic, loving person who was adored by many fans and a friend to all who knew him. Mark is survived by his two children who were the loves and inspirations in his life, son Michael John Ehmann, and daughter Emily Marie Ehmann, both of Keller, Texas, and an estranged second wife, living in Auburndale, Massachusetts. Other survivors include brothers: Harry Ehmann, and wife Joanne, Thomas Ehmann, and wife Ronda, and Chuck Ehmann and wife Cheryl, his favorite (and only) sister, Kathy Ehmann-Clardy, and husband John Clardy, plus nephews: Ross Ehmann and wife Jessica, Andrew Ehmann and wife Kelsie, John Lee Clardy, III, James Britton Clardy, Tony Ehmann and wife Lin, Jesse Ehmann, and nieces: Allison Ehmann, and Sophie Ehmann. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Richard Louis Ehmann, FUNERAL SERVICE: Service will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in Restland’s Memorial Chapel, 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas officiated by Deacon John Costello, of St, Francis’ Parish in Frisco, Texas, followed by a private burial at 4:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Sherman, Texas, officiated by Deacon Albert Miller.
