Mark was a good bishop and a caring person. I was blessed to be a pastor under his leadership in the early years of this century. He showed wisdom and discretion and a pastor’s heart. I will miss him. God’s blessings and consolation to all his family in this time of loss.
It was a great grace to have known Bishop Mark for all working in the community of Dallas for the needs of those who had no voice. He was a powerful preacher speaking out for them and for the unity of all concerned. Thank you, Donna, for sharing your precious gift of Mark with us.

Bishop Herbener you have impacted the life of so many people. I have nothing but great memories of you and your darling wife ,son and daughter.
I’ll never forget your contagious laugh and how your face lit up when you played your guitar and sang “Lord of the Dance”. You were a great example of how thy shall love thy neighbor. You did things others wouldn’t do,went places others wouldn’t go to help people others wouldn’t help.You mean so much to so many. Thank You for officiating our wedding. It’s been 35 years now. We took those vows to heart. I have learned so many Christian values from you. Thank You for all you have done for my family and so many others.You were my first Pastor, and a Great Teacher.I was always glad to see you and your wife.You are gone,but you’ll never be forgotten.

I worked with Mark on a Dallas Jewish-Christian interfaith committee years ago. He was a man of great faith, compassion, decency and integrity. Good in the world will be less without him.
So sad to hear about Mark’s passing. He was always such a delightful man to work with on the Interfaith Council and the various programs. I so enjoyed his wit and his stories over the years. My heart goes out to Donna and his family because I know they will miss him a great deal. My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet husband, Bishop Herbener. It was a privilege to know him these past few months. Both of you made such an impression on our volunteers. They always looked forward to their visits.
I pray for peace and comfort for you as you go on with your life and know that you have many many friends to surround you.
