Marla Welch Heslop's Obituary
Marla (Welch) Heslop passed away at her home in Garland, Texas on July 10th at the age of 88. She was born November 20, 1935, in Macon, Missouri, to Opal and Alphus Welch. She moved to Kansas City where she attended Northeast High School and met her future husband, Raymond.
She was married to Raymond Wayne Heslop on June 19, 1953, and for the next 57 years raised four children.
As a true stay at home mom until the last child went off to school, she then learned to drive to help provide for the family. Marla began working at JC Penney in 1966 and retired after 32 years. Marla took daily walks, read and collected Nicholas Sparks’ novels and volunteered in the church nursery.
She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She delighted in giving gifts and celebrating birthdays, holidays and anniversary’s. She always made sure that everyone was loved equally and they felt her big love. She exemplified a life of contentment with what you have and was happiest when surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, brother David Welch, brother-in-law Jerry Gage, and grandchild Holly Jones. She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her sister, Carol Gage.

Her 23 Great Grandchildren: Ella Chisholm, Ava Chisholm, Hagen Halpin, Colin Halpin, Tristan Halpin, Mason Halpin, Autumn Jones, Ethan Jones, Gemma Zarda, Edie Zarda, Sophie Zarda, Finley Heslop, Poppy Heslop, Davis Crosby, Caroline Crosby, Parker Crosby, Anna Lynn Kelly, Collins Kelly, Hallie Kelly, Ellis Kelly, Shepherd Kelly, Carter Kelly & Mills Kelly
Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas will host a visitation Tuesday July 16th from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 17th at 2:00 pm.
