Marlene Betty Smith's Obituary
Marlene Betty Smith was born February 5, 1934 in Dodge Center, Minnesota and passed away on February 11, 2015 in Richardson, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Meril and Mildred Fate. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jim, and children: Janet Young and husband, Barry; Don Smith and wife, Toko; Karen Dodgen and husband, Robert; and her grandchildren: Jonathon Smith, Samantha Dodgen and Chelsea Dodgen. She is also survived by her brother Larry Fate and wife, Karen. A consumate mother, wife and homemaker, she loved to cook and try new recipes. Marlene and Jim enjoyed dancing and were active members of the Jeans & Queens Square Dance Club in Plano. She always put her family first and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting and sewing. The memorial service will be at 12 noon on Sunday, February 15, 2015 in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
