Marsha Lynn Voinov's Obituary
Marsha Lynn Voinov passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, March 1, 2024, which was also her mother’s birthday. The sun broke through the clouds after she entered heaven revealing a glorious spring day that she would have loved.
Marsha was born on April 13, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to Mary Gladys and Carl Zenus Tuttle. From riding horses with friends to playing high school tennis, she loved the outdoors at a young age and frequently reminisced about her love for her San Angelo, Texas roots. Marsha graduated from Corona del Sol High in San Angelo. Following her graduation, she attended a business college prior to meeting a handsome young Air Force Captain with a red convertible, who would soon become her husband for 49 years. Marsha and Bill Voinov spent the first two years of their marriage in Istanbul, Turkey while Bill was stationed in the Air Force, and Marsha served as a court reporter for the JAG Corps. During their years overseas, they made precious memories and embraced adventure prior to moving to St. Louis and later, Dallas for the remainder of Marsha’s life.
Marsha was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She joyfully raised two children Jason Daniel and Amanda Louise, and she always made sure her family came before herself. As her kids grew older, Marsha embraced a dream with her husband to own an antique store/ gift shop, Peek In the Attic. If you ever visited Peek In The Attic, you would find Marsha being a friend to many loyal customers, creating a masterpiece window display for all of Snider Plaza to admire or listening to their stories while carefully putting the finishing touches on their gifts with beautiful wrap and a be-spoked bow. With her genuine sincerity and humor, Marsha made each person feel known, loved and cherished.
Marsha had many beautiful God-given gifts: playing the piano, joyfully decorating and running her gift shop and becoming a Master Gardener to only name a few. She also served as the Merriman Park Estates Garden Club President. However, it was the way she humbly served others that was the most beautiful gift of all. She cherished her son Jason’s photography and encouraged her daughter Amanda daily. Marsha wanted everyone in her family to know that she was their biggest fan. We will always remember her sweet love for her dog Bella, dancing to rock-n-roll music, savoring Texas BBQ, and how she soaked in the beauty of plants and flowers throughout her life as an avid gardener. She loved being a member of Grace Church in Lake Highlands and would openly share how she felt Christ’s love by their church body.
She treasured her years as a grandmother to her four grandchildren. “Mimi” loved playing Barbies and watching Hallmark movies with her granddaughter, building “forts” with her grandsons and relishing the outdoors with each of them. She had a quick wit, mischievous grin and loved to laugh especially with her grandkids. Even in her last days of life, she continued to have a lovely smile and cheerful demeanor that shined her beautiful light to all who surrounded her.
Marsha Lynn Voinov is survived by her son Jason Daniel Voinov; her daughter Amanda Voinov Hamilton; her son-in-law Rhodes Witte Hamilton and her four grandchildren; Rhodes William Hamilton, Andrew John Hamilton, Mary Evelyn Hamilton and Daniel Witte Hamilton; her brother Jerry Lance Tuttle and sister-in-law Karen Tuttle; and her sisters-in-law Georgine Boucher and Marlene Voinov. She was preceded in death by her husband William Daniel Voinov and her parents, Mary Gladys and Carl Zenus Tuttle.
