Marshall Bryant CarrollAugust 15, 1930 – November 17, 2018 Marshall Carroll, of Garland, passed away on Saturday, November 17,2018 at the age of 88.Born in Frisco, Marshall attended elementary and secondary school when Frisco had one school building for all grades. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School, and attended Arlington State College.Marshall worked full time from the age of 15 years, beginning as an usher at the Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie. After 2 years military service in the U.S. Navy (served stateside during the Korean Conflict), he later worked for General Electric as a purchasing clerk and worked for Manor Bakery as a route driver. In the late 60s, he began a nearly 50-year career in the Life and Personal Property Insurance industry, where he held positions as sales agent, top sales manager, and property claims adjuster. Upon retirement at the age of 80, Marshall went out to his garage – established Papa Marshall’s Workshop – and built countless wood crafts, treasured by family and friends, for the next 8 years.Marshall was wild about Judge Judy, but the true love of his life was his wife of 34 years, Illiene.Marshall was preceded in death by his son, David Scott Carroll, and grandsons, David Scott Carroll, Jr. and Daniel Aurelio Gonzalez.Marshall is survived by his wife, Illiene Carroll; daughter, Becky Ferrell and husband JG; son Marcus Carroll; stepdaughters Diana O’Neal, Anne Harris and husband Mike; stepson John O’Neal and wife Susan.Grandchildren – Margaret Coleman, Austin Carroll, Jason Harris, Amber Nichols, Justin O’Neal, Andrew O’Neal and Tucker Garvey.Great Grandchildren – Ashlyn Nichols, Reed Nichols, Avery O’Neal, Connor O’Neal, Morgan O’Neal, Jaida Garvey, Devin Garvey and Brayden Garvey.Beloved extended family and friends.Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, with graveside service immediately following.
