Marshall Garmon's Obituary
Marshall Garmon was born on February 22, 1925 in Chicago, IL and passed away peacefully at his home on August 2, 2016 in Plano, TX. Marshall is survived by his wife, JoAnn Garmon; daughters, Paula Sibilsky. Sandra Garmon, and Lori Blunk; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He served his country proudly and honorably in the Navy Seabees and in the 2nd Marine Division during WWII. Marshall was one of the first Marines to storm the beaches of Okinawa and continued to serve in the Marines until the end of the war. Marshall had a deep, enduring relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, church, and service. He wanted everyone to know “he loved God, his family, and his country”. Marshall lived a long and fruitful life. In his last few years he was often heard saying, “God, I’m ready to go when you call me, but I’d sure like to stay here longer; I’m having such a wonderful life”. Visitation and viewing will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home followed by a Service at 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In honor of Marshall Garmon’s memory and in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Veterans Administration, American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
