Martha “Jean” Brooks, born in Red Bud, Illinois to Mary Smith and John Gann, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Richardson, Texas, at the age of 83, surrounded by those she loved most.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Rayburn Brooks, who stood by her side through every chapter of their journey together. She leaves behind her cherished daughters, Cheri Thomas and Karen Foster, whose lives were shaped by her wisdom and unconditional love. Her legacy also lives on through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her generous heart and infectious joy.
Jean will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the radiant love she poured into her family. Whether whispering words of encouragement to her daughters or sharing her wisdom to the world and all who knew and loved her.
Her presence may be gone from this earth, but her spirit remains woven into every memory, every story shared, and every moment of kindness inspired by her example.
A Funeral service is to take place at First Primitive Baptist Church In Dallas TX on July 28, 2025 at 11am with a Burial to follow at Restland Cemetery.
