Martha S. Davis' Obituary
Martha Ann Silber Davis, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Flower Mound, Texas. She was born on July 27, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she also met the love of her life, Thomas Robert Davis Sr. The two married in 1962 and shared a beautiful journey together until his passing in 2012.
Martha was a woman of strong will, unwavering resilience, and immense generosity. She held firm beliefs and a deep desire to provide a better life for her family than the one she started with. Her dream of building a legacy was realized through her boundless support and unmatched love for her children and grandchildren.
Together with Thomas, Martha traveled through several chapters of life—starting in Corpus Christi, where their son Thomas (Thom) was born in 1963, then to Denver, where their son Patrick was born in 1964, and eventually to Cleveland. After moving often, they finally settled in Texas, where Martha built a life full of tradition, warmth, and love—including cherished Sunday dinners at String Bean.
Martha found joy in golf and embraced it as a relaxing pastime. She had a deep love for animals, turning every home into a safe haven for dogs, cats, horses, and even donkeys. A lover of murder mysteries, a loyal bingo player, and a take-out food connoisseur, she delighted in simple pleasures and lived on her own terms. At her nursing facility, she was affectionately remembered for her determined spirit, especially her signature phrase and response to all: “I’m not gonna do it!”
Professionally, Martha was driven and hardworking, eventually rising to a high-paying position in the early 2000s—an accomplishment that spoke to her perseverance and ambition. She was fiercely generous, helping others whenever she could—most notably adoring her grandchildren and never missing a chance to spoil them with love and stylish surprises—often of the Tommy Hilfiger variety.
Martha is survived by her sons, Thomas Davis and Patrick Davis; her daughters-in-law, Carol Davis and Laura Davis; and her grandchildren: Katie and Trey Davis (children of Thomas and Carol), and Hannah, Olivia, Andrew, and Matthew Davis (children of Patrick and Laura). She was a proud and devoted grandmother, always going overboard for the ones she loved. Martha is (also) survived by her 4 brothers, Bob (and his wife Barb), Jack, Tom, and Charlie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered not only for the life she built, but for the life she dreamed into being for those she cherished most.
