Martha "Marty" Garner's Obituary
Martha (Marty) Ann Garner of Temple, formerly of Dallas, passed away August 22, 2015 after a brief illness. Family visitation will be Wednesday, August 26 at 1 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church, Bells, TX, services at 2 p.m. with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, TX. The Reverend Houston Garner will officiate. Restland Funeral Home of Dallas, is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Garner was born March 3, 1934 in Amity, Arkansas to Homer and Beatrice Garner. The family moved to Whitewright, TX in 1934 where she attended church and schools and graduated from Whitewright High School. She also attended a business school in El Paso, TX. She is proceeded in death by her parents, sister Faye Griffin, brothers Nylon Garner and Kenneth Garner, and niece Wanda Shelton, and her beloved pet Ms. Daisy. Ms. Garner is survived by her brother, Houston Garner of Whitewright, sister, Evelyn Manoogian of Temple, niece and husband Vickie and Larry Landrum of Denison, nephew and wife Dwayne and Laura Griffin of Sherman and nephew and wife Roger and Nancy Manoogian of Temple. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and Texins Club Association among others. She retired from Texas Instruments, Dallas, after 37 years receiving many awards and recognitions. Marty was known for her humor and love of family. She loved fishing and entertaining family and friends at her lake house on Lake Texoma. Pall barriers are Roger Manoogian of Temple, Mike Shelton of Colbert, OK, Dwayne Griffin and Steven Garner of Sherman, David Garner of Mansfield, and Jeremy Rhudy of Garland. Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church, Post Office Box 176, Bells, TX 75414. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
