In 1970, Martha married Bob LaBounty, and together they raised their blended family in Richardson.
During these years, friends from their mini-church at Fellowship Bible Church were an important part of their life and they made many great memories together. Martha and Bob were one of the original members of Fellowship Bible Church North (later Chase Oaks) in Plano, Texas where they served in the Divorce Care ministry and were Mini Church leaders. In recent years, Martha and Bob attended the Woodbridge campus and were blessed to enjoy new friendships there.
Spurred by her love of snow skiing and travel, Martha and Bob added Bounty Travel to their tax and accounting service and spent many years arranging ski trips and travel packages for friends and youth groups. Martha relished the extra hours this allowed her to spend on the slopes and exploring destinations abroad. Martha was an avid golfer and spent many enjoyable years at Canyon Creek Country Club and Firewheel Golf Course building friendships, volunteering, playing on the golf course, and later joining a Bible study group with these friends. Martha loved being a grandmother, and the grandkids adored their “Mimi.” Martha was happiest when all her children and grandchildren were gathered together, especially at Thanksgiving, her favorite holiday.
When asked what the highlight of her life was, Martha said, “It was accepting Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1973.” Visitation will be Monday.
