In 1994, Mrs. Leone was my ESL teacher in Plano, TX. As a 7 year old from another country, I was very shy and struggled initially. Mrs Leone helped me learn how to read and write English. She was always so kind and patient with me. Even after she moved to teach at a different school, years later we would keep in touch through letters. She was a great source of advice and always knew how to give reassurance, positivity, and confidence. It saddens me to find out of her recent passing. I wish I could talk to her one more time to tell her how much I appreciated her kindness, tell her my life adventures, and to say thank you for everything.
