Martha Faye Marek's Obituary
MAREK, MARTHA FAYE MCINTOSH, 83, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, surrounded by her beloved family. On January 26, 1929, twins Martha Faye and Johanna Raye were born to Willis Gibson and Maggie Pearl Minter McIntosh in Hearne, Texas. The twins grew up in the Rosebud area and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1945. Faye worked as a bookkeeper for the BelFalls Electric Cooperative (REA) for nine years. She kept the books for her husband’s business and also owned and managed rental properties. Faye married Joe Lee Marek on May 16, 1954. They moved to Garland, Texas, in November of 1955. She was a homemaker who devoted her energy to caring for her husband and encouraging her children in many activities. She loved animals, gardening, collecting dolls, writing poetry, and most of all, attending church. Her beloved husband, Joe, passed away in 2001 after 46 happy years of marriage. As a teenager, Faye was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as the Community of Christ Church. She was a charter member of the Richardson Branch Community of Christ. She supported her husband, a priesthood member, and as a servant of Christ, she did whatever she could to help others in her church and neighborhood. Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters and their husbands, Drs. Marilyn Faye and Nathan Schroer of Newberry, SC, Melanie Jo Olmstead of Independence, MO, Melinda Lee and Ernest Janecka, and Melissa Dawn and Gary Hutchison, all of Garland. Grandchildren are Russell Smith and wife Kristen, Joshua Janecka, Tiffany Rondomanski and husband Christopher, Stephanie Olmstead, Brittany Gordon and husband Scott, Jonathan Schroer and wife Yulia, Matthew Schroer and wife Mary Talmage, Joseph Schroer, David Schroer, Jordan Hutchison, and Jason Hutchison. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Lily and Milo Rondomanski, Kennady Gordon, Aiden and Megan Smith, Anna Grace Schroer, and Philippe Schroer. Faye is also survived by her twin sister, Raye Beinhauer of Rosebud, sisters Eva Malone of Richardson, and Flora Ann Kenworthy and husband Bill of Independence, MO, sister-in-law Frances Raye McIntosh of Pearland, brother-in-law Alvin Marek and wife Ann of Rosebud, many loving nieces and nephews, and numerous longtime friends. Her brother, Willis McIntosh, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Restland Memorial Chapel with Elder Chris Taylor officiating. The family will receive family and friends on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. 972-238-7111
