Martha Sue Toney's Obituary
Martha Sue (Medford) Toney was born in Henderson, TX on September 16, 1939 to the parentage of Watkin Medford and Ida Mary (Mayfield) Medford. She attended school in Rusk County and graduated from International Beauty College in Garland, TX. Martha Sue was employed at Hill’s Beauty Salon and at Senior Care Nursing Home in Garland, TX until her retirement. Martha Sue was formerly married to Kenneth Toney and this union was blessed with three children. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Toney attended North Garland Baptist Fellowship in Garland, TX. She enjoyed cooking during the holidays for her family and friends. Her hobbies were shopping and dining with family and friends. Martha Sue Toney passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at San Remo Rehabilitation Center Richardson, TX with her daughter and two sisters at her side. Mrs. Toney was preceded in death by her parents, Watkin and Ida Mary Medford; three brothers, Sammy Medford, Billy Medford, and Calvin Medford and one son Billy Ray Toney. Those left to cherish her sweet memories: son, James Toney (Gwendolyn); daughter, Venita McGill (Terry); brother, Chester Medford (Margaret); sister, Gertrude Walls (Thomas) and Mary Sanders (Floyd, deceased); sisters-n-law Allee Medford and Freddie Medford, Grandsons James Toney Jr. Terry Toney McGill and Billy Ray Toney. Caring aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.
