Martha Ann Willis' Obituary
Martha Ann (Crim) Willis, age 87, passed away January 16, 2019 at Vitas Hospice of Baylor Scott-White in Carrollton, Texas. Martha was born March 3, 1931 in McKinney, Texas, the son of Glen and Myrtle (Crockett) Crim. She was a sibling to thirteen brothers and sisters. Martha is survived by her son and daughter in law, Mark & Lisa Willis, her daughter and son-in-law, Mike & Kay Ward. Martha is also survived by her brother Max Crim and sisters Sue Hunt and Fannie Borders. Martha cherished her four grandchildren, Melinda Sims, Samantha Culver, Alex Willis and Austen Ward as well as two great-grandchildren Jensen Lee Culver and Magnolia Jane Culver. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Martha lived in the Dallas County/ Richardson area most of her adult life. She enjoyed being surrounded by family, friends, music, and gardening. Martha took great pride in being a homemaker for her family. Martha was always ready to lend a helping hand and was much better at helping others than taking help. Mother was a true “giver” in life. The last few years were difficult with the progression of late stage Alzheimer’s disease. On January 16, 2019 her family was blessed to be by her side readying her for the transition from life by manicuring her nails, brushing her soft grey hair, applying lotion to her leathered skin and holding her hands. We all participated in prayers of Unction for the dying. At 10:07am we watched mom take her last breath and leave the suffering of this world. The chain of our family has been broken but we will link again one day and be whole.A graveside service for Martha was held January 18, 2019 in the Good Shephard section of Restland with attendance by family and friends. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local hospice or Vitas hospice(vitas.com) as they provide an invaluable atmosphere and service for the terminally ill.
