My prayers are with your family as you grieve the loss of Marty. Whether he was your father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother or friend, rest assured he is with his Savior today. As a young man, he was a hero as he flew missions in WWII against foreign enemies. He protected those he held dear without concern with for his own well being. Today, he wants only the best for each of you. Hold on to the memories because I believe as long as we remember, they are always with us. Cherish your memories and hold them close to your hearts forever. How blessed you all were to have this gentleman for 90 years and were able to celebrate that milestone with him. He loved you! Big Marty, as we always called him, was the nicest most generous person I believe I have ever known. He often let me take him to the airport and then would let me drive his car while he was out of town. As a high school kid I thought that was the greatest thing to be able to take his car to school. He would hit golf balls in the area behind our houses and we would go and pick them up for him and then he would pay us to do so. We thought we were rich!!!! He and Jo were special friends to our parents. They had lots of fun and good times together. I know they are all reminiscing about their adventures together and playing cards and having a grand time. Big Marty when we meet again I will always remember "swordfish". Cheers to a wonderful wonderful man and thank you for serving our country. I was so honored to be able to go to his 90th birthday party the week before he passed away. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, Lyn, Jamie, Aaron, Michelle and Brian.

Many heartfelt condolences are being sent to the family of Martin Sidener as his Winfield High School classmates learn of his passing. Marty's life and times as the young man we recall have been a joy to all who knew him. He was always so successful and such an inspiration to others in sports, at Southwestern College and in the Air Force. He will live on in our memories and those memories will endure as an honor to the type of person he was. May he rest in Peace. Sincerely Junellia Phillips Russell WHS Class of 1943.
