Marva L. Williams' Obituary
In the Beginning: Marva Williams was born to the late Marvin Walton, Sr. and Dorothy Seyphus Walton on March 5, 1950, in Bryan, Texas. She was the firstborn of twelve children.
Life’s Lessons: Marva attended and graduated Kemp High School, Bryan, Texas in 1968. She went on to attend Paul Quinn College, Waco, Texas. She later attended McClennan Community College, Waco, Texas where she earned an Associate of Applied Arts & Science degree.
Christian Experience: Marva was brought up in Macedonia Baptist Church. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She is a former member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a current an active member of Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor David E. Wilson. She served in various ministries.
Married Life: She married Anthony Darnell Williams May 5, 1970 and celebrated 50 years of marriage in May 2020. To this union, were born 2 children Charlotte (Williams) Franklin & Avery Williams.
Career Life: She worked 35 years at Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Texas (Trailblazers) as a Claims Analyst. She retired in November 2010.
Special Interests & Hobbies: Marva truly enjoyed attending church services and events. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, baking, and traveling. She has traveled to several states and countries, most notably London, Brazil, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.
She is preceded in death by: Parents, Marvin “Bob” Walton, Sr. and Dorothy (Seyphus) Walton. Brothers Quinton “Sambo” Walton, and Marvin “Jr.” Walton.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: husband Anthony Williams; children Charlotte (Charles) Franklin, Avery Williams. Sisters: Osborne (Darryl) Allen, Johnnye Mary “Mollie” Walton, Diana Walton, Winona Walton. Brothers: Paul “Ned” (Michelle) Walton, Leroy (Vernell) Walton, Roderic “Rick” Walton, Allister “Pokey” (Freddie) Walton, Windom “Chic” Walton. Grandchildren: Brittany, Nicholas, and William, Auja, Trinity, Zion. Great Grandchildren: Christopher, Caleb, J’Sean, Brooklyn, Adonis, and Angel. Beloved mother-in-law Bessie Williams, sister-in-law Kay Wilson, and Brother-in-law Kevin Williams. Beloved uncles William “Free” (Pauline) Seyphus, Paul (Frances) Walton. Special Best Friends: Patricia Grant, Maryann Campbell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
