Marvin Shirell Boyce I was born in east Texas on a sandy little farm, My arrival failed to create a world of alarm, Raised in a country town with a courthouse square, Finished high school without much flair, Moved to the big city as a baker of bread, Then war came along and to the army I was led, Became a bomber pilot and in combat I would fly, Till the enemy struck and gave me a black eye. Spent a year as a POW at Stalag Luft One, Liberated by Russians and for home I would run, To college I would enroll for an education I desired, Four years later a degree that has never expired. Business world was short and progress would have to wait Back to war two more years still flying early and late. Home again after war to the airlines I would go, A job in sales to promote travel I know. Met a lady of beauty with form and smile so pure, Married a year later in a pact that will endure. Change of jobs and profession sent us packing to K.C., To help the hard of hearing with sounds A to Z, Plaza hearing aid center became our place of domain, For 25 years of consulting we did work and reign. Now semi-retired and working only a bit, Will keep things going long as fires are lit. Have a sweet little wife, 2 great children and 3 grand, Thank God for his blessing and the chance to make my stand. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
