Marvin Royce Holland's Obituary
Marvin Royce Holland of Dallas, Texas, passed away May 3, 2020, at the age of 90.
Marvin was born in Hillsboro, Texas, on January 27, 1930, to Jesse and Allean Holland. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School, then married the love of his life Norma Jean Holland in 1950. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1959. Marvin and Jeanie moved to Dallas in 1966 and raised two sons. Marvin worked as a manager for AT&T for 40 years, and after retirement served as executive director of Texas Excavation Safety Systems Inc.
Marvin volunteered in many community activities, including Rotary Club, Lake Highlands High School Wildcat Club, and East Dallas Chamber of Commerce. He coached his sons' sports club teams over many years, and was active in Highlands Christian Church. After retiring, Marvin enjoyed golf and gardening, and going on cruises with Jeanie.
Marvin Holland is survived by his son William Marvin Holland of Mesquite; son Michael Paul Holland, wife Devonna Holland and grandson Keillor Holland of Fort Worth; sister Lynita Holland Emmons and sister Sandra Holland Tarrant. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanie, and his sister Barbara Holland Turner.
A private graveside service at Restland Memorial Park is planned.
