Marvin Duane Jenkins' Obituary
Jenkins, Marvin Duane ~ Of Carrollton, 71, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Kirby Manor Nursing Home of lung cancer. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Joyce Ann (Jarvis) Jenkins of Carrollton, his daughters, Gena Michele Turner of Arlington and Anderia Jenkins Wright of Carrollton, and sons, David Michael Jeter of Waxahachie and Marvin Duane Jenkins Jr. of Frisco and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Jim Jenkins, his sister, Betty Jo Jenkins McPeak, Sister-In-Law Martha Bennett, Sister-In-Law Virginia Jenkins, and multiple nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Tom Bean, Texas, the son of Willie Jo and Walter Jenkins; he spent the last 25 years in Carrollton and Clarksville, Texas. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on his ranch in Clarksville, which he affectingly called “The Ponderosa.” After released from the U.S. Army, Mr. Jenkins worked in paving construction until ultimately launching his own successful 20 year business with over 100 employees at one time. Viewing will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 between 6-8PM and the funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10AM at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel on located at 13005 Greenville, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 and to The Chronic Disease Center, Frisco, TX.
