Marvin Lee "Speedy" Gregory's Obituary
Marvin Lee “Speedy” Gregory Of Dallas, TX passed away January 28, 2010, going peacefully from the arms of his loving family to the loving arms of his Lord. Born Oct 22, 1919, in Waxahachie, TX to his parents Robert Vaughn and Ona Lee Gregory; he was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, June Elizabeth Gregory, son Buddy Wayne Gregory, and two brothers. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers along with his son Michael Lee Gregory Sr., daughter-in-law Lora Kay Gregory, as well as his grandchildren: Buddy Wayne Gregory II, Amber Gregory Masters, Michael Lee Gregory Jr., Graden Lane Gregory, and his nine great-grandchildren. After growing up in Scottish Rite Hospital for crippled children, Speedy was quick to reciprocate by sponsoring and aiding children in need. He became a 32nd degree Mason and started his legacy as one of the largest and most successful excavation contractors in North Texas. He served on the boards of Brookhaven Country Club and First Texas Bank and also as an investment advisor at Edward Jones. He loved golf, weekend card games with his long-time friends, and the Dallas Cowboys… when they were winning. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, February 1st, 2010 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial, located at 9220 Restland Rd, Dallas, TX.
