Marvin Dean Turney's Obituary
Marvin Dean Turney, aged 73, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, in Plano, Texas. Born on December 21, 1950, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, he was the cherished son of Cad and Eva Turney.
Marvin’s life was a testament to his strength and love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula, and their children; son, Jon and his wife, Jamie; daughter, Rachel. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Isabella, Amber, and Eliana, who will miss their grandfather’s warmth and guidance.
He also leaves behind his sister, Letha Wilson, along with many other family members and loved ones who fondly remember his kindness and wisdom. Marvin was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Jerry and Robert; and sister, Lavina.
A long-time member of Kalihi Union Church and First Baptist Church Richardson, Marvin’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. In his leisure, he pursued various interests such as coin collecting, reading, woodcrafting, and landscaping. His spirit shone through active community involvement, alongside an unwavering zeal for repairing anything and everything. Fondly known as Mr. Fix-It, he often anticipated the needs of loved ones, quietly tending to the repairs in their homes and equipment before they could ever seek his expert guidance.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marvin’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society, the National Lymphoma Society, or a charity of your choosing.
