Marvis was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Richardson. She (and John) enjoyed many years as members of the Pathfinders Class where they developed life-long friendships. In addition to being a member of the United Methodist Women, she was a bereavement volunteer, and she helped prepare meals for funeral services. Marvis was also involved in the prayer blanket ministry.
During her lifetime, Marvis enjoyed all the activities that come with having children, such as Scouts, baseball, football, dance lessons, piano lessons, and church functions. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, playing bridge, ceramics classes, dancing, traveling, and of course, spending time with family and friends.
Marvis will be remembered as a caring, loving, kind, patient, and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed so very much, but we rest easily knowing she has lived a long, full life, and she is happy and whole again with family and friends who have gone before her.
Special thanks to the amazing administrators and caregivers at Silver Creek Assisted Living in Garland, Texas, where she resided for the last two years of her life. They cared for her with love and compassion and made sure she had fun participating in many activities.
