Mary Catherine Allen's Obituary
Mary Catherine Allen born January 18, 1928 in Cushing, OK to Corbett and Coral Burnett Ritter. Member of the Order of the Rainbow and FHA club. Graduated from Stillwater High School, and received a degree in Home Economics from Oklahoma State University. Appointed Assistant Home Demonstration Agent for Osage County Oklahoma. Survived by loving husband of 62 years, Roy; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lynne Allen; grandson, Zach and granddaughter, Katy all of Edmond, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Laird Jr. and their family Anthony, John III and Jennifer; niece and her husband, Lee Ann and Steve Parker, grand niece and nephew, Stephanie and Jerry Dean of Azle. Preceded in death by son John Ritter Allen and sister Norma Lee Hrdy. In Waco, served as: President, Junior Shakesphere Club; Circle President, Austin Avenue Methodist WSCS; Board member Wesley Foundation, Baylor University. At Schreiber Memorial Methodist Church in Dallas member of Administrative Board, leadership roles in Missions, Evangelism and Worship Committees; member of Aldersgate class and United Methodist Women. Motto in life was: “Happiness is Helping Others” including family, friends and as a long time supporter of Methodist Mission Home, Methodist Children’s Home and Wilkinson Center. The visitation for Mary Allen will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mary Allen will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Schreiber Memorial Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75238.
