Mary Margaret Ambrose's Obituary
Ambrose, Mary Margaret ~ Passed away on March 3, 2011 in Dallas TX. She is survived by her husband Donald Ambrose, son Bradley Ambrose, daughter Kristin Ambrose, grandson Sawyer Ambrose, mother Lucille Wilson of Downers Grove IL, sister Louise Wilson of Plano TX and brother John Wilson of San Francisco CA. Mary was born on June 9, 1949 in Elgin IL. She was raised in Joliet IL, graduated from Joliet Township High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Northern Illinois University in Decalb IL. Mary taught school in Waukegan IL, Fairfax VA and Plano TX. She switched careers, working in telecomm-unications for many years where she rose to the level of project manager for Verizon. Mary had a passion for nature and outdoor activities including bicycling, hiking, walking and gardening. She was active in church activities including “Cooking for the Homeless,” the Hospital Visitation Program, Stephens Ministry, Adult and Youth education classes; and became the first female usher at FUMCR where she served for many years. Mary was a positive influence on her family and provided a warm and wholesome atmosphere. Through her guidance and determination she encouraged her children to follow their dreams and become the best they could be. She was a role model and inspiration to her students, co-workers, family and friends. Mary showed others what matters most in the world and demonstrated how to be strong and courageous always facing new fears with dignity and grace. Mary would never give up and showed how, through faith, anything is possible. She was admired and loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held in Mary’s honor on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Richardson, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson TX. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to FUMCR (church) and the Dallas Arboretum.
