Mary Anne Craig -Collins' Obituary
Mary Anne Donohoe Craig-Collins, beloved mother, grandmother, and community servant, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on July 1, 1940, to Jim and Lucille Donohoe.
Mary Anne was a dedicated nurse, earning her nursing degree from El Centro College in Dallas, Texas, before going on to earn a degree in sociology from The University of Texas at Dallas. She spent much of her career serving others, first as a nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and later as a home health nurse. Mary Anne’s passion for helping others led her to establish the Parish Nursing Program at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Richardson, Texas, where she made an impact on countless lives.
In March of 1962, Mary Anne married Eddie Craig, and they had three children together, Michael, Mark, and Michelle. Her family was the center of her world, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother to her four grandchildren, Brittany, Haley, Kaitlyn, and Kylie. After the loss of Eddie in 1992, Mary Anne found love again and married Gordon Collins in 2002. Through this marriage, she gained four stepsons and ten step-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Gordon passed away in 2024.
Mary Anne was deeply involved in her faith and the Episcopal Church. She was an active member of the “Order of the Daughters of the King” at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, where she found joy in service to others.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Lynn) Craig of Naples, FL; her daughter, Michelle Craig of Richardson, TX; her granddaughters, Brittany Craig of Naples, FL, Haley (Alejandro) Rodriguez of Chicago, IL, Kaitlyn Craig and Kylie Craig, both of Pittsburgh, PA; her stepsons, Todd (Rachelle) Collins of San Antonio, TX, Ryan (Gina) Collins of New Market, MD, Kevin Collins of Richardson, TX, Sean (Lindsey) Collins of McKinney, TX; as well as many beloved step-grandchildren.
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Craig, and her second husband, Gordon Collins; her son, Mark Craig; her parents, Jim and Lucille Donohoe; and her brothers, Pat and Joe Donohoe.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, located at 421 Custer Road in Richardson, TX. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. and a reception at 12:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed on the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany’s Facebook page.
