Mary Louise Ayala, age 77, of Garland, Texas passed away on January 19, 2018 in Garland, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 2, 1941, to William Atwell Benningfield and Mabel Harkness in Rock Island, Illinois.She married Elias Ayala on July 25, 1977 in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Mary owned Drapes and Shades by Mary Lou, and was a drapery maker for 22 years.She was preceded in death by her son, David Ezekiel Newman, and her mother, Mabel Harknes. Mary is survived by her husband, Elias Ayala, of Garland, Texas; Daughters, Debra Angle, of Davenport, Iowa, Samantha Marsh, and husband Joe, of Mesquite, Texas; Step-daughters, Michele Drew, and husband Michael, of Sterling, Illinois; Anita Cogdill, of Silvis, Illinois; Step-sons, Daniel Ayala, of Seattle, Washington, and Bradley Ayala, and wife Audrey, of Milton, FL, Gregory Ayala, of Davenport, Iowa; Sisters, Jacqueline Gath, of Davenport, Iowa and Elizabeth Rose, of Belton, Missouri; along with multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.The family will receive visitors from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Restland Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 beginning at 11:00AM, in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
