Mary Lee Bailey's Obituary
Mary Lee Curry Bailey was born to Lillie Haymon Curry and Amzie Curry on February 24, 1930 in Mackamie, Arkansas. She is the oldest of five girls: Christine Curry Reed, Frances Curry Freeman, Doretha Curry Arps Sumpter, and Gloria Jean Curry Reed. Mary attended high school in Tyler, Texas before getting married and coming to Dallas, Tx. in 1946.Mary Lee Curry married Herschel Bailey, Jr. where they raised three children, Flora Mae Bailey Griffin, Chester Lee Bailey and Linda Jean Bailey Freeman in Dallas, Tx. She was a member of Arlington Park First Baptist Church and later, New Birth Church in Dallas. Mary spent several years working as a local musician for New Waverly Church, Lone Star Church and Macedonia Church. She was also a member of the Missionary Society and Eastern Star, S. A, Blair #276.Mary Lee Bailey was a licensed beautician, musician, a licensed private duty nurse and a childcare provider. She retired from all work in 2001.She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Linda Jean Bailey Freeman and grandson Corey Bailey. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, friends and relatives.The funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery. A visitation will be an hour prior to the service.
