Mary Anne Barnes' Obituary
Mary Anne Barnes, 87, died peacefully at home in Richardson on March 27, 2021. Requests to attend a memorial service can be emailed to Laurie Barnes at jingdezhen@aol.com. She is buried next to her husband of 66 years Paul M. Barnes (1929 – 2020) and their son Paul Lowell Barnes (1956 - 1970). Her parents Wade Smith and Mary Bland Smith are also buried nearby. Born in Washington, D. C. in 1933, she was the eldest of two daughters. She was an longtime member and pre-school teacher at CARE Church. One member of the church called her a "children's ministry treasure," who will be "greatly missed." In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to https://www.carechurch.org.
She is survived by her sister, Gina Smith Norris Rebman (John Rebman); daughter, Laurie Erin Barnes; son, John David Barnes; granddaughter Genevieve Ying Wang (Albert Chunli Wu); great-grandsons, Ezekiel Hayden Wu, and Wylie Ellis Wu. Her host of nieces nephews and their children include: Kimberley Anne Norris Huggins (Dan Huggins, Kate and Wade), Barbara Barnes Saporito, Margaret Anne Barnes Hillard (Milton Hilliard, Myles, Mack, Mandy), Gerald Barnes (Debbie Fogel, Sophie, Lilly) , Bob Norris (Laurie Fromberg, Abbie, Liam, Austin).
