Mary Aleese May Benson's Obituary
MARY “ALEESE” MAY (McANEAR) BENSON passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the age of 86 in Richardson, TX. She was born on May 23, 1935 in Bunger, TX to Earl and Maggie (Jowers) McAnear. Mary Aleese married Carold Benson on December 19, 1954 in a double wedding ceremony with his twin brother, Harold, and sister-in-law, Ferline in Sweetwater, TX.
Mary Aleese was preceded in death by her husband–Carold Benson, daughter–Karen Aleese Benson, son–Victor Carold Benson, granddaughter–Sheila Horton and also her parents–Earl & Maggie McAnear, a brother–Dewey McAnear and sister–Ada Faydell Van Horn. She is survived by a brother–J.C. McAnear of McLean, TX, her sisters–Wanda DeBusk and Mert Carey of Sweetwater, TX, and Peggy Clough of Cypress, TX, along with 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mary Aleese Benson was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a long-time resident of Plano, TX, where she was a homemaker. She loved spending her time outdoors, where gardening was her favorite pastime activity.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Restland Cemetery (Dallas, TX) with a private visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service at Restland Funeral Home.
