Mary Jo Borntrager Ray's Obituary
Ray, Mary Jo Borntrager 92, died at home on August 8, 2013. Mary Jo was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 18, 1921 to Karl and Hazel Borntrager, grew up in Yonkers, NY and graduated from Cornell University. She married James B. Ray on August 6, 1944. The family moved to Dallas from Cranford, NJ in 1972. Mary Jo was an accomplished artist who loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. She was an avid bridge player, long-time volunteer at Dallas Shared Ministry and active member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James B. Ray, and son-in-law, David L. Wilkes. She is survived by her sister, Louise Weigel; daughters and sons in-law, Janet and Tom Kuzio, Mary Jane and Tom Petrick, and Debbie Wilkes and David R. Hill, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation and Memorial Rosary will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 at Restland Abby Chapel, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas on Sunday, August 11. Memorial Mass at St Rita Catholic Church, 12521 Inwood Road, Dallas at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to North Dallas Shared Ministry (www.ndsm.org) or Dallas Chapter Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/greaterdallas)
