Mary Catherine (Bruner) Robertson's Obituary
ROBERTSON, MARY CATHERINE BRUNER Adored Wife, Beloved Mother and Grandmother, went to be with the Lord, January 8, 2014 after a brief illness as a result of a stroke she suffered December 23, 2013. Mary was born in Heber Springs, AR, Dec. 21, 1921 and moved in childhood to Hope AR. She met and married her husband, Dr. C Gib Robertson, in Hope on Dec. 21, 1947. They have lived in Dallas since 1955. Mary was preceded in death by her husband and her brother Jack Bruner of Texarkana, TX. She is survived by her deeply loved family; her daughter Marilyn and her husband William Platt of Dallas, her two grandchildren Amanda, and Andrew. She is also survived by her sister Naomi and husband Kenneth Black of Spring TX., her brother Richard Bruner of Georgetown, TX and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters in law. Mary was an active member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. She had played the piano for Sunday school, sung in the choir and was active in her church circle. She also attended many Bible studies. She was dedicated to her family and friends, a very loving gracious person. She will be missed immensely. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 PM Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Internment will held 11:30 AM Monday January 13th at Restland Memorial Park. A Memorial Service and reception will follow at 1 PM Monday at Lakewood United Methodist Church on Abrams. Memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.
