Mary Jane Carter's Obituary
Mary Jane Carter born December 6, 1937, in Ohio Township, Warrick County, Indiana passed away October 25, 2017, in Richardson, Texas.Jane graduated from Roosevelt High School in Washington, D.C. in 1955. She was a graduate of Emory University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a devoted wife of 58 years. She was a loving mother of four children and eleven grandchildren. Jane would always spend time with all her children and grandchildren showering them with attention and prayer. She would go out of her way to send care packages and remember those she knew on any special occasion. Jane loved books especially her Bible, and she spent hours praying for others. She made amazing gingerbread cookies from scratch. Jane was a Cub Scout Den mother and a Campfire leader. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Richardson and spent many hours teaching Sunday school to children.She is preceded in death by her parents, James Benjamin Busby and Dora May Cornell Busby; her son, Bill James Carter; and her husband, Buford Henry Carter, Jr.Jane is survived by sisters Sarah Lou Rice of Damascus, MD, Dora May McConnell of San Antonio, TX; sons, Ted Allen Carter of Austin, TX, Larry Wayne Carter of Evans, GA; daughter, Ann Cheri Carter Cody of Allen, TX; granddaughter, Kara Carter Peters of Roswell, GA; grandson, Alex Raymond Carter of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Beth Ann Carter of Virginia Beach, VA, Dana Michelle Carter of John’s Creek, GA; grandsons Eric Allen Carter of Richardson, TX, Christopher Andrew Carter of Richardson, TX; granddaughter, Alyssa Caitlyn Cody of Allen, TX; grandson, Trey Carter Cody of Allen, TX; granddaughter, Melody Meibao Carter of Austin, TX; and grandsons, Kevin Chase Carter of Austin, TX, Keith Cole Carter of Austin, TX.The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2017, in The Abbey Chapel followed by service at 3:00 PM in The Abbey Chapel at Restland Memorial Park.
