Mary “Charlyne” Fender Winborn beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was born on September 2, 1930, in Houston, Texas.
Her family moved to Dallas, Texas when she was 3 years old. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, she married her first and only love, Edward “Eddy” Layne Winborn in 1947 soon after his discharge from the Navy. They had met at a dance where Charlyne went on another date yet leaving with Eddy instead. Eddy then went on to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Downtown Dallas for over 30 years. They both thoroughly enjoyed retirement traveling, volunteering, and their grandchildren. Eddy volunteered for the Pioneers of Southwestern Bell rebuilding machines for the deaf along with teaching the 8th grade boys class at church. Charlyne volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed taking Bible studies at church. Charlyne was an accomplished pianist and had won many awards. She was a woman of faith and raised her three children along with Eddy in the Baptist church. She was the pianist at Casa View Baptist Church and later attended Wilshire Baptist Church and then St. Andrew Methodist Church.

“In my Father’s House are many rooms: if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
