Mary Laura Coleman Taylor's Obituary
Laura Coleman Taylor was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1912. She was preceded in her death by her parents Walter Harvey Coleman and Stella Gertrude Pitchford Coleman, by her sister Evelyn M. Coleman, by her husband Thomas Nelson Taylor, and by her grandson Dyrol Dunlap. Laura is survived by her brother Walter H. Coleman, Jr. and his wife Janis, by her daughter Joan Dunlap and her husband Drew, and by her son James Anthony Taylor and his wife Sheryl. Other survivors include her fine grandsons Keith Dunlap, Joseph Dunlap, Shane Taylor and his friend Carolyn Proctor, Evan Taylor and his wife Ashley, and Justin Taylor and his wife Adrienne. Her three great-grandchildren are Weston Lee Taylor, Avery Lynn Taylor, and Autumn Laura Taylor. Laura grew up in Dallas and graduated from North Dallas High School. She was married three times and had two children with Thomas N. Taylor. She worked in various jobs but worked for many years at Roberts Jewelers in Oak Cliff where she became known by many people n the community. She moved to the Hurst area when she was 75 and continued to work and make new friends. Laura was a strong, hard-working, fiercely independent, bright woman, who had a witty, charming side that endeared her to many people. She was never happier than when she was tending her yard and enjoying nature and the great outdoors. She was a great mother who worked hard to provide for her children and a loving grandmother who was involved in her grandchildren’s lives from day one, gifting them with precious memories to last a lifetime. She will be missed, continues to be greatly loved, and will never be forgotten.
