Mary Bois Corson's Obituary
Mary passed away on January 18, 2015 joining her husband of 50 years, Kenneth, and daughter, Cathy Gotway in God’s loving arms. She leaves family and friends fortunate to have shared in her life sister, Peg Muhlenbach; daughters, Arlene Graham (Lee) and Nancy Smith (Gary); son-in-law, Bernie Gotway; grandchildren, Garrett Gotway (Veronica), Jennifer Gotway and Heather Toman (Stephen); great- grandchildren, Maggie, Ella, Kenny and Evan; and close circle of friends, Ernest, Keith, Dannie and Pam. Mary grew up in Buffalo, NY, met and married an Air Force Lieutenant home on leave. She and Kenneth moved to the country where they raised their three girls. Mary was active in the Lutheran Church and school activities, an African violet enthusiast, a voracious reader and serious Scrabble player. When Ken was transferred to Dallas she began her own career as a Credit Manager with Neiman Marcus. She loved her job, her customers and to travel to new places. In retirement she and Ken travelled to Europe, Hawaii and “back east” to visit family. After Ken’s passing Mary continued a busy life on her own; taking care of family, reading endless mysteries, cooking for friends, and playing Scrabble. She spent the last months of her life being cared for by loving aides and nurses in a happy home called Lexington Place and from All Star Hospice. Mary played her last scrabble game in the Fall of her 89th year, winning by a wide margin. The visitation for Mary will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mary will be at 12:30 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mary’s name to St Jude children’s Research Hospital Foundation, which Mary supported for her lifetime. www.stjude.org/donatenow
