Mary Helen Drain's Obituary
Mary Helen Drain, age 91, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026. She was born on April 18, 1935, in South Bend, Texas, to Charles Edward Beadles and Mary Jane Bogges Beadles Reece.
On December 18, 1953, Mary married the love of her life, Ray “Pete” Drain, in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they shared many devoted years of marriage until his passing. Mary was a faithful and loving wife and a deeply devoted mother. She took immense pride in her daughters, serving as their greatest cheerleader and constant source of encouragement. She inspired them to pursue the highest levels of education and supported them in every activity and endeavor.
Mary’s life was rooted in her strong Christian faith. She was an active and dedicated member of her church, where she gave generously of her time and heart. She taught Sunday school, faithfully served in Vacation Bible School, and participated in women’s ministries, leaving a lasting impact on her church community.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray “Pete” Drain, and her parents, Charles Edward and Mary Jane Beadles Reece.
Mary is survived by her loving daughters, Paula McCauley; Sandra Ball and her husband Tom; and Phyllis Reid and her husband Brian. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Ryan McCauley and his wife Julie, Mary Scott and her husband Junior, Peter McCauley and his wife Hannah, Christopher Ball and his wife Salla, Rachel Dickerson and her husband Cameron, Emily Reid, and Gavin Reid and his wife Julia. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren, Aidan, Aiman, Ethan, and Angelina Scott; Evey Ball; Lynley Dickerson; Zachary Gyler and Helena Gyler; Abigail and Patrick McCauley and her grandchildren Zach and Caroline.
A service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Mary will be remembered for her unwavering love, her faithful spirit, and her lasting devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, encouragement, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
