Mary Elizabeth Estep, age 90, passed away peacefully at 10:29 AM on January 7, 2019 in Plano, Texas. Mary Elizabeth Estep was born in Forreston, Texas, on July 30, 1928, to her loving and thoughtful parents Mona V. and Erwin L. Harwell.After her family moved to Dallas, Mary Elizabeth graduated from Adamson High School and began working for an insurance company downtown. She met her future husband, Arthur Estep there and rode the same streetcar to and from Oak Cliff. They married August 31, 1947.Just prior to their wedding, Arthur was called back into the Air Force, in which he served during WWII. Quickly the wedding date was moved up, the invitations changed by hand, the honeymoon cancelled, and off they went to an airbase in Merced, California – beginning a 22 year journey that would take them to many parts of the world and far from Dallas.When stationed in the Philippines they traveled to Hong Kong and Thailand; while living in Turkey they traveled to Egypt, the Holy Land (spent Christmas in Jerusalem and Beirut), Greece and Italy. Continuing their love of travel, in civilian life they visited Europe, Russia, Germany, Austria and sailed up the Amazon River.Mary Elizabeth Estep will be sincerely missed by her loving family, her devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.At this time, a graveside funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Estep will be held Saturday January 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park.
