Mrs. Mary Lou Farrow's Obituary
FARROW, MARY LOU, born in Lehigh, OK on Nov 1, 1926 to James and Lucille Strang Holmes, Mary Lou moved to Dallas when she was 3. She attended Dallas schools and graduated from Sunset High School in 1944. She worked for the Office of Price Administration prior to attending SMU as an art major where she was an active Kappa Alpha Theta, SMU Cheerleader and Rotunda Beauty, and married Ernest Gene “Ace” Farrow in 1947. She is survived by husband Ace, sons Ernest Eugene Farrow and wife Michelle, James Holmes Farrow, Daniel Bruce Farrow and wife Vicki, and daughter, Carol Louise Farrow. Grandsons, Matthew Farrow and wife Harmonie and Clayton Farrow; and granddaughters, Anne Farrow and Vanessa Farrow. A long-time member and leader in many organizations, notably: The Dallas Woman’s Club, Marianne Scruggs Garden Club, The Mentor Club, Jr. Three Arts Study Club, Dallas Museum of Art League, YWCA Metropolitan Board, Park North YWCA Chairman, Girls Adventure Trails Board, Texas Fine Arts Association, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and a long time member of Park Cities Baptist Church in the Morrine George and Mary/Martha Sunday School Class. She also pursued a long-time interest in art and interior design with study with the Cushing Studio pursuing her wonderful painting skill and as owner of Decorator’s Alley providing interior design. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Park Cities Baptist Church, Ellis Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Park Cities Baptist Church Building Fund.
