Fayrene was my marketing manager when we both worked at Kemper Insurance. I cannot tell you the many laughs we shared together as we travelled New Mexico and Texas. I will always remember her wonderful sense of humor and her laugh. Once traveling in East Texas I was stopped in a speed trap with her in my company car. How embarrassed I was but Fay took it in stride. Another time we were traveling in New Mexico late at night returning from agency visits. I just happened to glance down at my gas tank and realized I was running on fumes. Oh what to tell my boss??? I knew I had to tell her so I just said, "Ah Fay guess what?" When I told her she panicked as it was very dark and we were in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately an angel must have ordered a gas station in San Antonio, New Mexico to remain open and I coasted in on empty. I often reminded her of that story and added that it was the only time I ever saw a human hug a gas pump!! Anyone who knew Fayrene had to love her. She was an inspiration to the employees who worked for her and with her. Her sense of fairness, compassion, and eagerness to help will always be remembered. I will miss her dearly and she will be in my thoughts. Jim Lullie
