Mary Jean Lees White Fischer 8-21-23Mary Jean was born in Big Spring, Texas child of Gertrude (Mumsie) and Herbert Lees. She grew up in Big Spring and then Springfield where she lived with her grandmother Mummum during her high school years.She met the father of her four daughters at Texas Tech College in Lubbock, Texas and soon married Ted Melvin White. They raised their daughters in El Paso, Texas where he was from, and where his father, Emory and his mother, Lilie Mae lived. While living in the El Paso Valley, Mary Jean returned to college and received a degree in Art History. In 1967 Mary Jean and Ted divorced.Mary Jean remarried Grady Morrow, a prominent Opthamologist in El Paso. The spent much of their life together traveling together to Medical Conventions all over the world. They had a happy and interesting life together until Grady died of a unexpected heart attack. It was after this that she moved to Dallas, Texas where her children and grandchildren were living.She worked several years and then married Dr. Philip Fischer in 1984. They were happily married 25 years. Mary Jean, during their marriage was noted for her Holiday Dinners. She always invited both sides of the Family with the desire to give both sides of the Family to meet and keep up with each other through the years.Mary Jean was also remembered for many other talents. She was a great seamstress who made beautiful dresses for daughters and received an award for first place at the annual Maid of Cotton Event in El Paso, Texas. She was also an excellent decorator, friend, devoted Mother and Grandmother.She is survived by 4 daughters: Landra Cole, Ana Newburg, Amy Bejcek and Lynn Boyce. Her grandchildren: Jonathan Cole, Jeffrey Cole, Kelli Cole, Bethany Williams, Allison Wright, Becky Boyce and Weston Boyce.
