June—known lovingly as Mom, Nonnie and Memaw—was a woman remembered by many names, each a reflection of the love and connection she brought into our lives. To know her was to love her, and to be loved by her was one of life’s greatest gifts. Her unwavering faith and deep devotion to God guided her steps and offered peace to all who knew her. She lived with quiet grace and abundant love, always offering a listening ear, a gentle word, or a comforting presence.
June found joy in the simple pleasures: losing herself in a good book, nurturing her vibrant garden, and sharing countless games of cards and puzzles with her dear group of friends. Her laughter could light up a room, and her wisdom and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she met. We carry her with us in the color blue—her favorite—a calm and steady reflection of her spirit. And we remember her especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas, the holidays she cherished most and celebrated with joy and warmth.
In her own words, she leaves us with a simple but powerful reminder: “A little more kindness, a little less hurry, a little more laughter, a little less worry.”
