Mary Kathryn Grandstaff's Obituary
Mary G. Grandstaff, age 90, of Fate, Texas passed away on July 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. W. “Dub” Grandstaff; parents, Ernest and Dollie Goldsmith; brothers W.A. (Goldie) Goldsmith (killed in World War II) and Jerry Goldsmith; daughter-in-law, Diane Grandstaff; and sisters-in-law, Frances Goldsmith and Betty Campbell.
Mrs. Grandstaff grew up in Sulphur Springs, Texas and graduated with Bachelor and Master degrees from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M) at Commerce, Texas. Most of her work life was with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, from which she retired in the early 1990's. Mrs. Grandstaff is survived by sister Barbara and husband Don McKinnerney of Malakoff, Texas; brother James Goldsmith of San Marcos, Texas; and brother-in-law Dusty Campbell of Muskogee, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind three wonderful children: son Charles Grandstaff and daughter Anita Williams of Mesquite, Texas and son David and wife Mary Grandstaff of Fate, Texas. She also is survived by three wonderful grandchildren: Danielle Hall and Jerry and Elijah Grandstaff; four super great-grandchildren: Anabelle Long, Taylor Grandstaff, Jacob Sims and Trevor Hall; one amazing great great-grandson: Hudson Grandstaff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Mrs. Grandstaff’s prior request, there was to be no visitation, closed casket and the service was to be held at Restland. The service will be held in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland in Dallas, Texas with Reverend Bob Dean officiating.
