Mary Anne Hamlin's Obituary
Mary Anne Hamlin, age 85 passed away at home on January 3rd, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born June 22, 1933 in Tom, Oklahoma, to Jefferson and Annie Weathers. Mary Anne attended Southeastern Oklahoma University in Durant, Oklahoma and went on to teach home economics for Leflore county extension service and 4H. She married Arthur Hamlin of Poteau, Oklahoma in June of 1957. They moved to Dallas, Texas in November of 1963. Mary Anne was a loving mother, wife, and homemaker that raised two wonderful boys. Although her sight and mobility had diminished in her later years, she liked to cook, sew, read books, visit friends and family, and going to the casino. Mary Anne never met a stranger and made friends every where she went. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, her devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her. Mary Anne was cared for over the past 9 years by her son John, who lived in the home. She lived with dignity and died with the dignity she deserved. It was the most important thing in this life that her sons wanted for her. Mary Anne is survived by: two sons, Jeff and John; her sister, Sharon Wade of Tom, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to share memories and pay respects between 6-8PM Monday evening, January 7, 2019 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will commence in the Restland Abbey Chapel at 12 Noon on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 with interment following in Restland Memorial Park.
