Mary Buchanan, or "Buke" as we called her, was beloved by her close friends, a group we dubbed "Moles". When we had our hospital experience as part of our nursing education, we went from the staff residence to the hospital, in a tunnel, to avoid the Texas weather which was sometimes too hot or too cold or too windy. Those friendships lasted for a lifetime. The three of us who remain mourn our loss.
