Mary Jo Hasty's Obituary
Mary Jo Hasty, loving and devoted wife, aunt, step-mother, and grandmother was born August 31 st, 1924 in Mulberry, Arkansas, and left to join God our Father in Heaven on March 3,2015. Mary Jo was raised in Haskell, Oklahoma, but moved to Dallas and met and married her husband of nearly 60 years, Richard E. Hasty. She worked as a court reporter and legal assistant for the federal government and specifically for Judges Landfair and Winfrey until her retirement. After retirement, Mary Jo designed beautiful silk flower arrangements and loved going to garage sales. She was an avid animal advocate and lovingly cared for many pets throughout her life. Mary Jo had a wonderful sense of humor and was generous and loving to all her family and friends. Preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Crocker Hunter; father, Colonel Boone Hunter; older sister, Monte Rae Mackey; older brother, C.B. Hunter; younger sister, Bobbie Ann Hunter Lashley, all of Oklahoma. Survived by Husband, Richard Earl Hasty; step-daughter, Pamela Hasty Jurlina; son-in-law, Michael K. Jurlina; Grandchildren Jacob and Sabrina Jurlina; Niece, Karen Lashley Wilson; Nephew, Jerry Robert Lashley; Brother-in-law, William Lashley; Nephew, Jay C. Mackey, Niece, Wanda Mackey Spencer and husband Richard (Bodie); niece Celia Hasty Carter and husband Mark; nephew Wilton Herbert Hasty, Jr. and wife Jan, nephew Gregory Mack Hasty and wife Sue, and many other great nieces and nephews. The visitation for Mary will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mary will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in The Wildwood Chaple at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Dallas.
