Mary Margaret Hines' Obituary
Mary Margaret Stippich Hines, surrounded by family, was given back to our Lord on May 1, 2015. She was born October 1, 1931 in New Braunfels, TX to Leo John and Erna Margaret (nee Heidrich) Stippich. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William D. Hines. She is survived by her children and their spouses: daughter Margaret (David) Dickel; son John Hines; son Stephen (Susan) Hines; three grandchildren: Diane Dickel (Jonathan Walsh), Lauren (Jason) Tyra, and Nicholas Hines; and one great-granddaughter: Vivian Walsh. Mary graduated from New Braunfels High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas State Teachers College (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, TX. After her marriage in 1954, she and her husband briefly lived in Pasadena, TX before moving to Dallas, TX in 1956. She remained in Dallas for more than 55 years. Her greatest passions were her family and faith, and she was a wife and homemaker until 1980. At that time, she became a sales manager at Merle Normal Cosmetics in Oak Cliff and later worked as a greeter for the Dallas Convention Center. She gave her family life and wings. She taught them the importance of love, family, God, friendship, and so much more. She was a patient, gracious woman. She had much compassion and empathy for others. She had a keen sense of humor, joy of life, and cheerfulness that she kept until the last few days of her illness. She had a wonderful sense of elegance, style and fashion for someone who always lived on a modest budget. She loved cosmetics, makeup and perfume, and hair styles. She loved her family, people, her church in Oak Cliff – St. Elizabeth’s of Hungary, and all things beautiful and good. Oh, yes, she loved her pets, cats and dogs, especially Ginger who was her last dog. Heaven has received her and she has no more illness, no more pain and suffering. We will miss her forever until we meet in his Glorious Kingdom. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
