Mary Ethel Hooper's Obituary
Mary Ethel Hooper, age 88, passed away peacefully at home in Seagoville, Texas on Friday January 12, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.Mary was born on November 3, 1929 in Huntington, Texas to the late Jesse McIntosh and Lela Williams. Mary has two brothers, the late James McIntosh and wife Eva Marie and Charles McIntosh and wife Marie. She was raised in Lufkin, Texas and was a 1947 graduate of Lufkin High School.She married Virgil L. Hooper on February 26, 1949 in Houston, Texas and became the best wife and mother anyone could have possibly asked for.Mary was a great cook and loved to entertain. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always the first to lend a hand if someone was in need. She will be missed but never forgotten and we thank her for the love, joy, and direction she gave us throughout her life.Preceding Mary in death were her parents, her husband of 45 years V. L., her brother James and an infant son, Richard Harlan (1956).Mary leaves behind a son, Russell and wife Kathy, a daughter Leanne and husband Mark, two granddaughters, Kelley O’Neal and McKayla Toth, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kathy Hamilton Hooper for all the love, care and devotion she showered upon our mother over the last 18 months. There are no words to express our sincere gratitude.A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 3 pm in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
