Mary Martin Huddleston's Obituary
Mary Niendorff Martin Huddleston was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 26, 1929 and went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2018. She loved Jesus, her family and her friends dearly and was always looking for ways to better the lives of the people around her. She was a devoted Christian and a long standing member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. She was also very active in Christian Women’s Clubs, the Assistance League of Dallas, T Bar M Tennis Club, World of Tennis at Lakeway, Bent Tree Country Club and the Mes Amie Club. Mary enjoyed volunteering her time to various organizations as well as reading, traveling, boating, many other outdoor activities and working on her puzzles. She lived in Texas, along with Panama & Alaska. Mary attended Business College after graduation from High School and worked as a secretary before becoming a civil servant at the Fort Sam Houston, Brooks AFB. It was there that she met and married V.F. “Marty” Martin and had three children, whom she adored. She later married N. Harper Huddleston and they enjoyed many years together.She is survived by her children, Kathy “Kat” (Martin) Parrish, D. Craig Martin & wife Tonya and Sharon (Martin) Rubinett. Her beloved grandchildren Christopher Martin; Haeli Pearson & husband, Rane; and Joshua Rubinett are a testament to gentle strength and loving heart. Other surviving relatives are sister-in-law, Virginia Niendorf of San Antonio, TX and nephew, Randall Niendorf & wife Cathy of Boulder, CO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on the evening of Friday, December 14 and with a memorial service held at Saturday, December 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the Main, Memorial Chapel at Restland Memorial Park. Interment will be at Whispering Waters at Restland, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
