Mary was not just a gentle soul, but she was true southern royalty. She always had a smile and would even laugh at my corny jokes. She and John grew up in a time that produced great Americans and they were at the top of the heap. I started working with the WWII veterans and their families well over 25 years ago and they have become my family as well. This passing takes a piece of me and even though I believe she is in a better place, it's still hard...john powell
Mrs. Huffhines will be remembered as a cordial and loving person. She had a wealth of information on her family history and the historical background of her community in Richardson. She was an excellent conversationalist and had many interesting stories to share. She was always interested in others and their families. Oh how she loved her children and grand children. I have many wonderful memories since childhood spending time with the Huffhines family and still enjoy close friendships with her daughter, Terrie and her husband, Jody. I find comfort in knowing Mrs. Huffhines is reunited with her husband, John. I can only imagine the silly jokes he is sharing with her, and I can almost hear her response to him saying, "Oh, John!".
